About the Restaurant

LoPan is DaiLoโ€™s upstairs dim sum and cocktail bar. The Little Italy restaurant DaiLo became an overnight success in Toronto. Its predominantly Cantonese fare cooked with traditional French techniques, was idolized by critics and chefs from all over the country. LoPan, a smaller and more intimate space, is a snack bar made for an either pre- or post-dining experience.

The menu up here is made for sharing. The yum cha, which translates to the act of going for dim sum, is a list of bar snacks like KFC popcorn tofu, General Tso crispy confit duck wings and truffle fried rice. These dishes all take some inspiration from the downstairs menu but are mostly just the brainchild of chef Nick Liu.

The teal and gold bar also serves some seriously whimsical cocktails with unique parings like the Watermelon Yuzu Smash, which combines reyka vodka and yuzu sake with watermelon and basil. The bar also carries a nice selection of sake, tequila, mezcal, scotch, bourbon and rum.
