In September 2012, Kimchi Korea House made its debut in downtown Toronto under the guidance of Michelle. Her profound love for Korean cuisine stemmed from her upbringing in the serene mountains of Sunchang county, nestled in the Jeolla province of South Korea. Taking charge of the kitchen was Michelle's nephew, Jin, who assumed the role of the chef. During her formative years, Michelle acquired the intricate art of crafting kimchi and mastering various Korean recipes from her mother. Upon immigrating to Canada in the 1980s, Michelle observed a dearth of authentic Korean restaurants, particularly those that excelled in serving exceptional kimchi. Fueled by their combined expertise in the restaurant and hospitality industry, spanning over three decades, Michelle and Jin embarked on a mission to establish a haven where they could share their beloved Korean comfort foods with others.
