Toronto clearly can't contain all McEwan has to offer: the third iteration of Fabbrica has set up shop in the quaint downtown area of Thornbury, Ont., located just two hours' drive north of the city, or 30-odd minutes away from the Blue Mountain Village, where chef Derek VanMeggelen delivers the top-notch, rustic Italian eats diners expect from the Fabbrica name. The Thornbury location allows for some menu updates, like the very local trout completed with scallion fritti, grilled baby gem and roasted eggplant purée, along with four beer options that are brewed in Thornbury. However Fabbrica favourites, like its meatballs, are still an option. With its proximity to the water and Georgian Trail, Fabbrica's newest location only adds to its appeal.
