When you hear that Donna's was started by three Momofuku alums, the food that they offer may surprise you, but the quality of said food will not. In the hip Junction triangle area, Donna's is serving up everything from fresh-pressed juices made in-house, to sandwiches — like the shrimp salad, served with iceberg lettuce and dill. The menu can mostly be divided into soups, salads or sandwiches, but there are certain standouts, like the potato tortilla, caramelized onions, tortilla and egg cooked over layers of potatoes until golden brown. There is also the option to support local businesses by buying a loaf of sourdough or a bottle of wine, brought in from community food and drink makers. This corner spot feels light and open, thanks to the large windows at the front of house, various light colours throughout the interiors in bits and pieces and an open kitchen.
