About the Restaurant

Freshly baked Jamaican beef patties, cocoa bread and sticky buns tickle your fancy? Well scurry on down to Scarborough's Fahmee Bakery and Jamaican Foods. Fahmee Bakery, run by a Chinese-Jamaican “fahmee,” has looked the same for decades. Yelp reviewers call it “dirty,” “run down” and “sketchy.” We call it character. The patties are crispy on the outside, and they’re dense, with a thicker crust than your flaky Kennedy Station patties — and they go for $1.35 each in beef or chicken, mild or spicy ($13 for a dozen). Wash it down with an Island soda by making it a patty combo for $3.15. Or get the jerk chicken or jerk pork stuffed in coco bread for $3. This spot has been turning it out since the late '70s and doesn't plan on quitting now.
