When the financial district’s Reds Bistro relaunched as Reds Wine Tavern in October, there was a bit of buzz surrounding the fact that Top Chef Canada alum Ryan Gallagher would be heading up the kitchen. But already the restaurant is looking for a new head chef.

Gallagher sent out a tweet last week indicating that he is no longer affiliated with Reds, and we confirmed with staff that the restaurant is seeking a new chef. There is no official word yet on why Gallagher is no longer working at Reds or who might be taking his place, but we’ll update as we learn more.

We have been informed that chef Michael Hunter, formerly of Toronto’s Scarpetta, has been hired as the new executive chef at Reds Wine Tavern.
