Odd Burger is serving up tasty vegan fast food in Toronto

Those in search of vegan chicken nuggets and burgers (not to mention highly addictive french fries) can finally get their fix in Toronto.

After opening in Vaughan in early July, vegan fast food emporium Odd Burger (formerly Globally Local Fast Food) opened an additional location in the GTA last month.

Despite the name, Odd Burger serves more than just patties and buns. The entire menu revolves around plant-based protein and dairy alternatives, but Odd Burger seeks to replicate the fast-food experience through more than just taste. Self-checkout kiosks, automated machinery, and ‘smart kitchens’ designed for delivery and takeout allow Odd Burger to mimic successful fast food strategies while reducing their environmental impact.

The new spot, located at 492 College St., officially opened on Sept. 17. The fast-food chain also has plans to open a location on Broadview Avenue. While no official date has been set, according to several recent comments on the company’s Instagram page, an update will be released shortly.

Since the addition of a location on College St., Odd Burger has been busy expanding with an aggressive growth plan.  Most recently, Odd Burger added a franchise in Windsor on Oct. 2 at 13458 Tecumseh Road and another in London, Ont. on Oct. 1 at 645 Commissioners Road East. Odd Burger also has plans to open an outpost in Hamilton, with an opening date to be released shortly.
