Owen Public School employee accused of sexual assault

The Toronto Police Service recently arrested an employee at Owen Public School, located in the Bayview Avenue and York Mills Road area, in connection with a sexual assault investigation.

According to a news release, the investigation spanned from October 2011 to June 2012. On June 6, 2012, police reported responding to a “suspicious incident” call.

The suspect, a 56-year-old Aurora male, allegedly sexually assaulted two girls while working at the school as a special needs assistant.

On June 21, 2012, the accused was charged with two counts of sexual assault and two counts of sexual interference.

He was expected to make a court appearance late last month.

Police are appealing to anyone who might have more information in regard to this case to come forward.

It is believed that there are more victims.
