And while Via Allegro has been open for more than 20 years, it remains one of Toronto’s favourite Italian restaurants and one of the most coveted tables in the city. This might have something to do with the man in charge.ย Guided by Claudio Aprile, a Toronto culinary icon renowned for his innovative fusion of global flavours and known to audiences as a judge on MasterChef Canada, and executive chef Marco Zandona.

And of course, there’s pasta on the menu. Via Allegro features dishes combined with premium ingredients. Think agnolotti filled with succulent short rib, maitake, taleggio, and truffle, or an indulgent risotto made with wild mushrooms, truffled porcini cream, and fontina fonduta.

Via Allegro has unleashed what might be the most delicious new five-course tasting menu in town. Dubbed “Aprile-style,” it seamlessly blends Italian classics with bold influences from Japan and Eastern Europe.

Starters like oyster on the half shell with cucumber, yuzu, and trout roe, and potato-wrapped shrimp with bagna cauda and saffron aioli set the stage. The journey continues with citrus-cured hamachi crudo, raviolo boasting yolk and pรฉrigord truffle and a robust filet mignon coupled with short rib and smoked marrow

But Via Allegro’s allure extends beyond the plate. Behind the scenes is a wine treasure trove worth $10 million, curated by Wendy Votto (yes, Joey Votto’s mom), who is as charming and well versed as the wine collecion . Among their prized bottles? A standout at more than $99,000!

Beyond dining, it’s an experience. Their new all-season patioโ€”lush with botanical accents and plush dรฉcorโ€”complements the opulence inside, inviting guests to savor not just meals, but moments in Toronto’s bustling culinary scene.
