Malbec is staking its claim on Merton Street. The Italian restaurant, in the former location of Steve’s Steakhouse and Seafood, opened on recently, and owner Francisco Bogado says the locals have been flooding in.
It’s Argentina-born Bogado’s first restaurant though he has worked in the Italian food industry for nearly 20 years.
Dishes run from $20 to $25 per person, he says, and you can find such fare on the menu as baby back ribs, sweetbread, lobster pasta and filet mignon with port wine reduction.
Malbec has a full bar and serves dessert as well, including fresh fruit salad and Argentinian crepes served with ice cream and berries.
Malbec is located at 234 Merton St., 416-489-1488.
