After a two-year hiatus of events and performances celebrating the LGBTQ community, kick Pride month off with local celebrity talent at Toronto’s newest rooftop restaurant, Harriet’s, atop the 1 Hotel Toronto.Â
Brooke Lynn Hytes, the first Canadian winner of hugely popular American reality competition television series RuPaul’s Drag Race, will be giving an electrifying live performance on Saturday, June 4. The event is hosted by fellow drag queen Devine Darlin and features other local Toronto drag performers, Miss Moco and Jada Shada Hudson. In between sets DJ Killa Kels will be spinning and A’mar Wharton-Matthew will be dancing, so be ready for a full day of good food, great music and even better vibes.Â
Tables of two, four and six are available with your choice of a 10:30 a.m. or 2 p.m. drag brunch time slot. Included in each reservation is a welcome cocktail for each guest, a bottle of Prosecco and three carafes of juice for make-your-own mimosas, fresh cut fruit and a family style set brunch menu curated by 1 Hotel’s chef Youri Kim. Additional mimosas are available for $5, as is bottle service and a-la-carte cocktail service.Â
In terms of the drag brunch menu, the three course meal includes shareables for the table like wagyu tacos, chili crab rolls and salmon ceviche. The second course is a selection of chicken sliders, short ribs or a croissant sando, followed by a for-the-table dessert offering of croquant choux, mochi and ice cream in an array of flavours like matcha and blueberry gelato.
