You can buy T.O. legend Jim Carrey’s remarkable $26.5 mil home right now

Jim Carrey, one of the world’s most beloved comedy stars, has listed his Los Angeles home for sale at a reduced price. The iconic actor, known for his expressive face and high-energy performances in comedy classics such as Dumb and Dumber, The Mask, and Ace Ventura, has put his sprawling estate up for sale at a now-reduced price of $26.5 million.

Originally hailing from Toronto, Carrey rose to fame in the comedy scene especially at local landmark Yuk-Yuks, honing his skills and making a name for himself. His comedic talent propelled him to international stardom, where he became known for his signature slapstick humor and larger-than-life characters. However, Carrey’s versatility as an actor shone through as he also achieved critical acclaim for his dramatic roles in films such as The Truman Show and Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind.

Beyond acting, he has ventured into other creative pursuits, such as writing an award-winning children’s book and co-writing the novel Memoirs and Misinformation, and fine art that is often of a political nature that he shows via social media. Carrey has also showcased his political comedy chops by portraying Joe Biden on Saturday Night Live.

In 2022, Carrey announced his decision to take a break from acting and contemplated the possibility of retirement. Currently, he has relocated to his wee vacation property in Maui, prompting the sale of his sprawling Brentwood estate, which has been his home for the past three decades.

The luxurious mansion is nestled behind towering hedges and private red-brick gates, the ranch-style residence spans 12,700 square feet and comprises five bedrooms, six full bathrooms, and three half baths. The home boasts pitched high-beam ceilings that promote airflow and skylights that flood the bright white walls with natural light, enhancing Carrey’s extensive art collection, which includes his own remarkable creations.

The mansion also includes an Art Deco-style home theater that pays homage to the grand movie palaces of the past, complete with mohair-covered sofas, burl wood columns, and a lavish marble bathroom.

Situated on a huge two-acre lot, a rarity in Los Angeles, the grounds encompass a full-size tennis court, a waterfall swimming pool, a pool house with a bar, a sauna/steam room, vegetable gardens, and a multitude of mature trees. Serene walking paths wind through the tranquil environment, leading to a dedicated yoga and meditation platform. Carrey has described the home as “a place of enchantment and inspiration.”
