UPDATE: We’ve confirmed that Guu Sakabar has received its liquor license and will be officially opening this Sunday, March 20, at 4 p.m.
As anyone familiar with the too-popular Asian restaurant chain knows, Guu and "waiting" are terms that can be used nearly interchangeably. And the same has been true with the upcoming opening of Guu SakaBar in the Annex. According to Eye Weekly, owners were hopeful that the place would open some time this week, but James Kim, a Guu general manager, tell us the restaurant is still waiting on its liquor license, which will come "hopefully soon."
When asked whether Guu SakaBar would open before the end of the month, Kim was unclear, saying "it all depends on the license and the AGCO."
So, once again we’re left with nothing solid to latch onto, but at least we’re not waiting outside in the rain.
