It seems that almost every day a new designer collaboration is announced. Over the last few weeks alone, we’ve heard about Marni for H&M, Jason Wu for Target, Mary Katrantzou for Topshop and Gorillaz for Converse. While we have one more to bring to your attention, this one in particular has been created for a good cause — and we don’t mean improving your closet.
We love it when fashion shows that it cares, and Vancouver’s global luxury fashion brand, Obakki, has done just that.
Teaming up with bkr (pronounced “beaker”) they have created a custom reusable glass water bottle with a silicone sleeve in their signature colour (orange).
Now, give us some credit, we aren’t calling a fashionable glass bottle a good cause just because you can re-use it. No, these bottles are in support of the not-for-profit Obakki Foundation's water projects. One hundred per cent of the proceeds of each purchase will go towards the foundation's aims to provide education and clean water for communities in Africa. For every 500 bottles sold, one water well can be drilled. See, we told you this was a good one.
