Tired of the usual winter activities in Toronto? Try something new this month thanks to a giant maze made of Jenga-style wood blocks that’s coming to the city this February.
Aptly named The Giant Maze, the experience is Canada’s largest winter maze pop-up experience and had its first run in Hamilton over the winter break. The themed maze spans over 14,000 square feet and stands 7 feet tall, made out of Grip Blocks (which you may have seen featured in backyard rinks all across Toronto).
While the maze itself, located at Toronto’s Evergreen Brick Works, is pretty exciting, there’s more — look out for photo opportunities, scavenger hunts (with prizes!), train rides and winter games that include some kid-appropriate axe throwing.
Since the maze is in collaboration with the Street Eats Market team, be prepared for plenty of great food: food trucks featuring everything from twisted potatoes to burgers, a hot chocolate bar and marshmallow fire pits, plus a live DJ.
The experience is truly meant for families: The Giant Maze runs on weekends only, with the exceptions of holidays — Family Day on Feb. 20 and all five days of March Break from March 13-17.
If you want to make a day trip out of it, the maze will also be open in Milton at the Country Heritage Park. You can purchase tickets to either maze for $20 for those 13 and up and $16 for ages three to 12.
The Giant Maze opens on Feb. 11 and runs until March 19.
