The only thing more relaxing than getting pampered with a group of gal pals, is getting pampered with a group of gal pals while sipping on a bubbling glass of champagne. Luckily, a brand new licensed nail bar is coming to Ossington in mid-October and there’s nothing quite like it anywhere else in the city.
Pink Nail Bar has been in the works since before the COVID-19 pandemic began. Husband-and-wife couple Matthew and Hana La have put their expertise together to create the salon. Matthew is an experienced business owner and Hana has worked on nails for years in Vietnam.
“When she came over here three years ago,” says Matthew, “she was working for one of the biggest nail salons in Toronto. Then she started taking courses and everything to understand about the business a little bit more. She branched off into eyelashes, waxing, and then I told my wife, ‘Why don’t you start your own?’”
So the couple found a gap in Toronto’s nail salons and jumped at the missed opportunity.
“Toronto nail salons don’t offer a wide range of products and they don’t offer high quality furniture and interior design. And a lot of them didn’t have bars where you can enjoy with your friends, for birthdays and weddings.”
Matthew thought the Ossington area was an “up-and-coming location” that isn’t already crowded by too many nail salons. “A lot of good places have been closing down.”
Pink Nail Bar will offer an extensive list of nail services, including dipping, acrylic and bio gel and will additionally offer waxing and eyelash extension services. Matthew and Hana plan to branch off into more services later as the business grows.
Perhaps best of all, Pink Nail Bar will be licensed to supply a range of wine and champagne selections to customers.
The nail bar will have professionally trained staff working out of a storefront that is modern and elegant. The black, white and pink interior will be decorated with leather couches, a marble countertop nail bar and marble coffee tables. The multi-level ceiling will have pod lights, chandeliers and pink LED lights to give the place a bright, contemporary vibe while customers sit back in high-quality leather spa chairs while sipping a glass of wine.
In the back, private rooms will be available for waxing and eyelash extensions.
Pink Nail Salon will be located at 123 Ossington Ave., between Queen and Dundas. The grand opening will be on October 15 with a soft opening beforehand. For the first week, services will be 20 per cent off for first-time customers.
