You’d better keep your stomach full, because with a new partnership on the horizon, The Food Dudes are set to bring their culinary magic to even more tables
The renowned culinary firm known for catering some of Toronto’s biggest events (including the NHL All Star weekend earlier this year) and for their original restaurants (Pantry, Rasa, Sara) has teamed up with Compass Group Canada to get their cutting-edge culinary stylings on even more dinner plates.
“With what my partners and I have built with The Food Dudes, we’ve reached beyond the ceiling in terms of what we ever thought we could do on our own,” says The Food Dudes’ founder Adrian Niman. “And in order to go to the next level, we felt it was necessary to partner with a company like Compass.”
Compass Group Canada is a leading foodservice and support service provider in the country, with an established portfolio serving health care, sport venues, schools, oil rigs, hospitals and penitentiaries. Its parent company, the UK-based Compass Group PLC, services more than 45 countries, having served for iconic venues and events including the Oscars, the Grammys and Wimbledon.

“Given the scale that we’re doing now, we’re ready for that opportunity to start doing larger events,” says Niman. “We have a reputation of being best in class when it comes to catering — an extremely high-quality product of food and service with attention to detail and care from our staff and bringing a lot of youthful energy to the event industry — so, we feel we mirror Compass very well.”
Niman started The Food Dudes in his condo kitchen in 2007, and in 2011, he brought in event production expert and CEO Lindsay Klein. Together, they transformed the company from a humble beginning into a renowned hospitality empire, making waves across Toronto and North America.
Niman assures that the commitment to exceptional customer service will remain unchanged despite the partnership with Compass Group Canada. Both Niman and Klein will continue to oversee day-to-day operations, as Niman believes there’s no need to alter a successful formula.
“It’s always been my lifestyle to really empower the people around me and the people around me are doing such an amazing job, so things are going extremely well,” he says. “It was very important to me to do a partnership with someone where they weren’t looking to take over control.”
Despite the growth of the company, Niman assures The Food Dudes maintains the same client-focus it has always provided.
“You can ask event planners, you can ask our venues, you can ask our clients and our customers — there’s something special, and that is the people that work for us and it was very important to me to make sure that wasn’t sacrificed in the deal,” he says. “So for the foreseeable future, nothing will be changing and we still have full operational control.”
