Free one-day summer music festival coming to park at Ontario Place next month

Toronto’s Wavelength Summer Thing is back on August 10, 2024, at Trillium Park, Ontario Place. This annual event promises a day filled with live music, art, food, and community, all at a scenic locale along Lake Ontario.

What’s happening?

Imagine a summer evening by the lake, with live music filling the air, campfires crackling, and a variety of delicious food options. That’s the atmosphere at Wavelength Summer Thing. This year’s diverse lineup includes rock, indie, jazz, and electronic artists, ensuring an eclectic musical experience for everyone. Plus, a mobile sauna!

Who’s playing?

Headlining the event is Daniel Romano’s Outfit, a band that’s built a reputation for their electrifying live performances. It is impossible not to love this band, led by the pride of Welland. But that’s not all! The lineup also features the glam-rock flair of Nyssa, the fresh jazz-fusion sounds of Lavender Town, the cinematic indie-folk of Sasha Cay, and the experimental turntablism of SlowPitchSound, accompanied by contemporary dancer Libydo. And let’s not forget More or Les, the underground hip-hop DJ who’ll keep the beats going all night.

What else is going on?

Wavelength Summer Thing is about more than just great summer music. Expect to see art installations by Stephanie Avery and Kizmet, decor by Roxanne Ignatius, and live painting by Julia YH. Feeling adventurous? Check out the mobile sauna by Public Sweat, then cool off by the lakeside campfire. And if you’re a foodie, you’re in for a treat with vendors like Gebeta, Kanto by Tita Flips, Masaya Means Happiness, and The Pop Stand.

Is there shopping?

The indie market is a treasure trove of unique finds. From vintage gems at Dusty Darling Vintage to holistic goodies at Mystic Sister Apothecary, there’s something for every taste. Other vendors include Flanzella, nu.stylegia, La Pupila, vinylBLOX, and Green Yang. So, bring your reusable bags and get ready to shop local.
