For a taste of flea market shopping on Queen East, Riverside Fabulous Finds hits the spot

Riverside Fabulous Finds is the east end’s answer to an indoor flea market. Tucked away inside a former funeral home, various independent vendors hawk vintage and pre-owned goods in addition to contemporary clothes and antique furniture.

Back in January, the space opened up to the public as a collective vendors’ space. Currently, three independent businesses operate there: The Barn, offering antique furniture; Vintage Vibes Boutique, with vintage and vintage-inspired clothing sourced by Deborah Parks; and the latest addition, Still Cherished, which houses mostly new, contemporary clothing items picked by owner Karen Gibbs.

For womenswear, Parks has quite the roster of rompers. “This is what I call my Cyndi Lauper jumper,” she says, pulling out a purple and green floral number ($35) that sits off the shoulder. Best of all was a collared denim jumpsuit ($35) with pocket stitching and a V-shaped cutout at the back, but we also liked a ruched, fire-engine-red dress fit for a fête ($50).

Still Cherished, meanwhile, had a pair of wide-legged polka dot pants ideal for slouchy summer days — and at just $20, they’re a steal.

Those into the furniture picks will find plenty in terms of tables. We liked a Colonial antique version with a rustic air ($895) that fit nicely with four simple wooden chairs ($300) for a countrified dining room set.

For those with a thing for rummaging through church sales, this is just the ticket.
