Tony Aspler’s Wine Pick of the Week: Henry of Pelham Barrel-Fermented Chardonnay 2008

You could pass this off as a white Burgundy any day of the week. Straw-coloured with a touch of barnyard on the nose, riding on minerally apple and toasty oak notes. Rich and full on the palate with a fine, long, nutty finish. Food match: grilled salmon, ripe brie.

$19.95, (Vintages #268342).

Post City Magazines’ wine columnist, Tony Aspler, has written 14 books on wine and food. Tony also created the Ontario Wine Awards. He can be heard on 680News.
