Earlier last month, The Drake Hotel revealed that it would be opening a standalone restaurant in the financial district named Drake One Fifty. At the time, details were scarce, aside from a web page that was decidedly low on specifics.
But in a press release sent out today, The Drake filled in the blanks. The 6,000-square-foot space will be opening early summer at 150 York St., inside of a former bank. The restaurant will seat 175 guests and will include a 65-foot circular marble bar, a “micro” Drake General Store, a curated art and performance space and a 70-seat patio. Kind of like The Drake Hotel, without the hotel part.
The interior, designed by Martin Brudnizki, will feature cork ceiling, tiled floors and a window wall of steel and glass that will make up the restaurant’s east wall.
Ted Corrado, who was announced as The Drake’s executive chef in February, will be in charge of menu development for the new restaurant, which will serve lunch, dinner and late-night eats.
