Playa Cabana’s Dave Sidhu sets his sights on Koreatown

Dave Sidhu, the man behind the Playa Cabana restaurants, is opening new taquerias at a lightning-fast pace, and he’s showing no signs of slowing down. After just opening Playa Cabana Hacienda in July, he’s set to open a fourth restaurant in Koreatown, which will be named, appropriately, Barrio Coreano.

Now Magazine reported about the upcoming restaurant earlier today, and we called Sidhu to find out more. He says that the new spot will serve many of the standards that the Playa Cabanas are known for, but adds, “It will have more of a Korean influence.” That means fusion items like kalbi beef tacos, gojuchang spicy chicken tacos or Korean-inspired pozole.

Sidhu says that the new 60-seat taqueria is slated to open in about a month and a half at 642 Bloor West, near Euclid.
