Toronto’s appetite for Mexican food appears to be just as strong as ever. Popular taco joint Playa Cabana just opened a second location in the Junction a few months ago, and now we’re told that a third location is in the works at 14 Dupont Street, not too far from the original location.
Matthew King, Playa Cabana’s director of operations, tells us that the new restaurant will be called Playa Cabana Hacienda. Taking over the space formerly occupied by Vittorio’s on Avenue, the Hacienda will be a three-floored venue with two patios.
King says that the menu and vibe will be similar to the other Playa Cabanas, with an additional focus on wood-smoked meats. If all goes well, the restaurant will be open in about two months.
