The western end of Parkdale isn’t exactly bar-hopping territory. And at The Yukon, that’s how they like it. With nightly deals like buck-a-shuck oysters or half-priced vino, there’s good reason the locals have made it their local. Bar manager Katy McLean’s cocktail menu is yet another reason why folks keep returning.
Our pick is the Luis Flores cocktail ($11) — named after the man supposedly responsible for the Mexican mafia. This take on a classic margarita takes Tromba tequila — the Canuck brand — and pairs it with fresh lime juice and agave syrup. The tipple is shaken with jalapeños, for added kick, and poured into a mezcal-rinsed tumbler with a salt rim. McLean says: “I have a personal love for things that are spicy.”
Now that’s worth the trek.
