From the outside, Osteria dei Ganzi doesn’t quite look like your average spot to grab dinner. The Italian restaurant is housed in a historical mansion commissioned by the Gooderham family in 1891. Inside, comestibles include charcuterie boards (with the likes of capicola and Parmesan), asparagus-studded pizza and a decadent take on tiramisu.
Drinks poured at the white marble bar are also in keeping with the Italian angle. Ganzi’s Negroni Sbagliato (which means “wrong Negroni” in Italian) switches out the traditional gin, replacing it with Prosecco. Campari still makes the cut, and it’s matched with sweet vermouth and orange oils.
A thin, dehydrated round of orange finishes off the $12 cocktail, making for a lighter and more accessible (read: less bitter) take on the Italian classic.
