The CNE is making a return this summer, and true to tradition, the food offerings are as wacky as ever. From August 18 to September 4, you can sample everything from frog legs to cheeseburger-flavoured ice cream.
Here are some of the more adventurous food offerings coming this year to the Ex.
Malibu Mac and Cheese
Savour a luxurious blend of pink champagne, three cheeses – aged white cheddar, Gruyère, and Parmesan – in a macaroni & cheese creation. Crowned with a dollop of caviar, all elegantly presented in a freshly baked bread bowl.
Peanut Butter Chocolate Corn Dog
Underneath the crisp batter is a surprisingly delicious fusion of  peanut butter and homestyle jam’s drizzle on the outside.
Holy Moly Cannoli
This giant cinnamon cannoli is custom-made and loaded with a veal cutlet, Provolone, Pomodoro sauce, garlic aioli, rainbow sprinkles and hickory sticks.Â
Korean Fried Frog Legs
Served crispy these frog legs come adorned with a tantalizing Korean sweet chili sauce.
Peanut Butter Jelly Corn
Corn on the Cob gets transformed into the Peanut Butter Jelly Corn, adorned with artistic swirls of peanut butter and jelly.
Pickle Cotton Candy
A must-try for pickle enthusiasts.
Cheeseburger Ice Cream
The creators of the infamous Ketchup and Mustard Ice Cream unveil their latest: Cheese Burger Ice Cream. Served in a cheese-coated waffle cone it’s then topped with a pretzel and a pickle.
Thanksgiving Poutine
These crispy fries come adorned with mushroom gravy, cheese curds, cranberry mayo and stuffing.
Watermelon Burger
The Hang Ten
Seared ahi tuna is served on rice with avocado, jalapeños, pineapple salsa, pickled ginger, cucumber, scallions, sesame seeds, and sriracha aioli, all served in a pineapple bowl.
