Experience elevated seating in an alleyway at posh new Toronto restaurant

Daphne’s arrival in Toronto’s Financial District hopes to herald a revitalization into the neighbourhood, infusing fresh energy back into the area.

A partnership between lifestyle company INK Entertainment Group (Amal, Byblos, Sofia Yorkville) and Dream, a Canadian real estate company, the “modern American” experience includes a dynamic outdoor destination, called the Alleyway that is set to transform a series of back laneways and features elevated seating and lounge spaces.
“We’re proud to bring a fresh rendition of an American-style restaurant, positioned at the heart of the Financial District’s revitalization. With a shared vision to create something special for the city, we’re looking forward to creating an elevated culinary destination as part of the Alleyway project, says Charles Khabouth, CEO, INK Entertainment.
Situated amidst the city’s towering skyscrapers, the American-style restaurant and bar is slated to open on June 22. The space, which also includes a garden terrace, totals over 8,000 sq. ft. and will serve as the flagship space of the Alleyway.

Offering American cuisine with a contemporary twist, the menu is spearheaded by executive chef John Chee (of Patois, Shook, Patria) and will showcase a selection of classics, small bites and artisanal bread crafted  by hand. At the heart of the restaurant are two authentic wood-fired grills where local and imported seafood will be grilled over the live coals.

Designed by Daphne’s mixologist Nishan Chandra, the cocktails, continues the Americana theme, and will emphasize the ingredients of the country with “notes of nostalgia and tradition” with each sip.

Interior design firm, Studio Paolo Ferrari has taken the lead in crafting the ambiance of the Alleyway and Daphne, offering a contemporary and elective reinterpretation of the classic American Bistro.
The design of Daphne captures the essence of New England prep, with its warmth and nostalgic charm. Set across a series of distinctive rooms, the restaurant features pinstripe seating, while the generous garden terrace is adorned with lush plants and soft seating where guests can unwind and relax.

Daphne is located at 67 Richmond St. West and will be open for lunch and dinner Monday to Thursday between 11:30 a.m to 10 p.m., Fridays between 11:30 a.m. to 11 p.m., and Saturday and Sunday from 3 p.m. to 10 p.m. starting June 22. Advance reservations can now be made via OpenTable.
