Fashion entrepreneur Joe Mimran (Club Monaco, Joe Fresh, Dragon’s Den) has teamed up with respected hospitality industry veteran Tony Longo (Splendido, Centro, INK Entertainment Group) to announce the opening of Quadro Ristorante, a modern Italian restaurant located at 577 College St. in Toronto.
Using the finest Italian ingredients, Quadro’s menu offers a premium Italian dining experience with a curated selection of pizzas, different kinds of pasta, and cocktails.
It also boasts a selection of imported wines from Italy’s most beloved wine-growing regions.
The 3,300 square-foot restaurant welcomes guests into a setting that is simultaneously sophisticated, inviting and unpretentious. The hidden back patio seats 50 guests offering a welcome sanctuary from the usual street front traffic.
An additional second-floor event space with a private entrance is available for private parties of up to 60 guests.
Mimran’s latest venture into Quadro didn’t come until Longo discussed the concept to create a scalable brand and social experience around the greatest unifier—food.
“The only thing harder than the fashion industry is the restaurant business,” says Mimran. “We’re thrilled to open our initial location on College Street where so many restaurants have been born and we truly believe in the menu and atmosphere that we’ve built.”
What’s on the menu?
The menu features housemade focaccia, pillowy zucchini, and ricotta fritters and savoury meatballs as starters.
However, the real stars on the menu are the Neapolitan style pizzas made in a traditional wood-fired oven and Italian favourites such as; cacio e pepe pasta and ravioli mascarpone with lemon butter sauce, honey and pine nuts.
“My inspiration came from the simple but fresh, traditional flavours of Italy and the idea of shared food around a communal table to create memorable experiences,” said Longo. “I believe that great food, friendly service and a fun atmosphere will bring guests back again and again.”
Quadro’s doors are now open to the public from Tuesday-Sunday with kitchen hours set from 5:00pm to 10:30pm.
