Ditch the veggie party platters, Parts & Labour has launched a catering service

Good news for Toronto’s cooking-averse party hosts — Parkdale hotspot Parts & Labour has started a catering service.

Offering what it calls an “eclectic” selection of nibbles, the service is aiming to bring street-food style to the city’s party scene.

The new venture is the work of P&L executive chef, Matty Matheson, along with catering chef Laura Matthews (formerly of Noma) and catering coordinator Tara Sachs.

Rather than a traditional sit-down meal, partygoers can expect a selection of food-truck style treats, like veggie stir-fry noodles in mini take-out boxes, taco stations and finger food. We particularly like the sound of the fennel confit with orange cream cheese and pistachio canapés ($4 each) and scallop ceviche ($30) — but we know we’d end up going for the tacos ($15) or hot dogs ($15).
