Cucina Buca is the newest take on Italian fare to come to St. Clair

The latest restaurant concept from The King Street Food Company (Buca, La Banane, Jacobs & Co. Steakhouse), Cucina Buca, at the corner of Yonge Street and St. Clair Avenue,  is a brand new Italian restaurant that celebrates classic Italian fare in an elegant, contemporary space.

With Buca having recently been recommended by the prestigious Michelin Guide, guests can expect the same standards of excellence at Cucina Buca.

Focaccia Di Recco, made with water buffalo ricotta and melanzane

Tempting menu headliners include four types of Focaccia Di Recco, an exquisite Italian dish composed of soft cheese enveloped in paper-thin focaccia, that took four years to perfect; Pasta Al Burro, fresh house-fermented butter and hand cut pasta; delectable Bistecca Alla Fiorentina (large Tuscan-style steak); the elegant Pesce Spada (swordfish steak with herb dressing) and many other dishes infused with the subtle flavour of the charcoal oven’s live embers. Cucina’s soft serve gelato makes a sweet finale to any meal.

Finocchio Salad, with shaved fennel, baby kale, citrus, pomegranate and walnuts

Cucina Buca’s curated list of Italian wines are chosen to pair perfectly with the food. Delicious signature cocktails include some incredible non-alcoholic options.

Cucina Buca’s relaxed dining experience brings people together over exceptional food in a warm, contemporary environment. Designed by Constantino Design Studio, the show-stopping two-storey space features soaring ceilings, expansive windows, and a mezzanine overlooking the lower level terrazzo flooring. The room floods with natural light and surrounds guests with modern curved architecture and natural white oak finishes, creating a sense of ease and comfort.

Emanuele De Donno, Cucina Buca’s general manager, has been a fixture in top Toronto restaurants for the past decade and is an expert in the art of hospitality.

“Yonge and St. Clair is in the midst of a revitalization and we’re excited to bring our unique style of hospitality and amazing food to this great neighbourhood,” says De Donno. “We have high standards and look forward to introducing our passionate approach to cuisine and service to families in the area.”
