Popular burger pop-up gets a permanent storefront in Toronto

Burger Drops is opening a new eatery in Liberty Village

Long-running burger pop-up Burger Drops is getting a permanent home in Liberty Village this fall. For over two years, Burger Drops has been bringing its unfussy smash burgers to various locations around Toronto. Recent pop-ups have been hosted at spots like Spaces Queen West, Henderson Brewing, and Eastbound Brewery.

The brand shared via Instagram that they’ve secured their first brick-and-mortar location at 116 Atlantic Ave., which is set to open sometime this September. “During our pop-ups, you followed us around Toronto as we changed locations week-to-week,” wrote the brand in an Instagram post. “It was a fun adventure that also had its challenges. Setup, tear down, transporting a kitchen’s worth of equipment, weather, oh and a pandemic.”

Burger Drops’ standard menu includes a choice of single or double smash patty made from a AAA chuck brisket blend served on Martin’s Potato Roll with Kraft Singles cheese, griddled sweet onion, housemade pickles, and their signature Drop sauce. Extras are limited to pickles, fries, and additional Drop sauce.

The brand hints that we can expect an expanded menu at their Liberty Village location, writing “Our team has been working tirelessly to set up the shop, test new menu items and work on giving you the Burger Drops experience you know and love.”

In the past, Burger Drops has featured one-off menu items at its various pop-ups, including a bacon cheeseburger at their recent Henderson Brewing pop-up; and a burger inspired by an Oklahoma fried onion burger at a Left Field Brewery pop-up.

It looks like we’ll have to wait for a few more weeks to find out if any of these previous special items will be permanent additions to the menu at Burger Drops’ new storefront.
