After spending 17 years on Queen St. West, many changes are coming to The Drake Hotel.
One of them is the appointment of Chef Laura Maxwell, who is now the executive chef.
“We’re so excited to have her join the fam, not only for her experience and incredible leadership, but also for her sharp knife skills, creativity, and passion for using locally sourced, naturally cultivated, and sustainable ingredients,” reads a recent post on The Drake’s Instagram account, which is also now a brand new social media handle.
Chef Maxwell has already posted a series of sneak peeks at what could be coming to The Drake this summer via her personal Instagram account.

Chef Maxwell is a Canadian chef who is also a brand ambassador with 100km Foods, which is is a wholesale local food distributor in Toronto that connects local farmers with urban markets.
Many restaurants in the city currently work with 100 km Foods to create their seasonal menus, including Gia Restaurant and 1 Kitchen Toronto.
