The weather has dropped below 20 degrees, so it’s basically winter – right?
Not quite, but in a few weeks you’ll be able to indulge in all the activities the winter season has to offer at Snow Magic. The event is a drive-thru experience at Ontario Place, opening Nov. 12 and running until Jan. 16.
Better yet, the winter wonderland will be the first of its kind to open at Ontario Place with the venue welcoming its first drive-through event. Snow Magic is also COVID-19 safe, contactless and physically distanced.
In a goal to stimulate the senses, the event is an experience that brings together light and art. Guests will be moved through various mystical sights and soundscapes, providing the opportunity to expand their imaginations.
The production features 18 curated installations of art from celebrated Canadian artists. Aiming to showcase the country’s best artistic talent, many of the installation artists have been featured in memorable events like Burning Man and Nuit Blanche.

Each installation’s focus is uniquely wintry and wonderful, from an Aurora Borealis experience crafted out of bands of light and colour to a replica of Sirius, the brightest star in the sky, made out of steel and light.
In addition to the thematic displays, Snow Magic will include interactive activities like a deep dive game experience as well as light tunnels that stretch as far as 1.7 km.

Snow Magic also features the likes of mythical creatures, crystal caverns, a phantasmagoric dome and a forest of light.

Crystal Siemens, Snow Magic’s creative director, says that the drive-thru event is “like no other.”
“We wanted to create something truly special,” she said. “Something that completely transcends the guest experience and takes you on an otherworldly journey that goes way beyond an Instagram selfie, and something that families and friends can enjoy together.”
“This is the first drive-thru event that is taking place at Ontario Place and we have infused it’s geographical location and uniqueness into our thematic journey,” she added.
All guests have to do is tune into an FM station (with music created courtesy of composer Miff Zawadski), and enjoy the ride through Snow Magic’s art projections and seasonal fun.
Snow Magic tickets range from $45 to $65 per car, and $1 for every ticket will be donated to SickKids. Tickets can be purchased at DriveThruFunCo.com.
